Pitchmark Heads to Qatar

On Friday evening, England and 28 of the 32 World Cup teams discovered their opponents ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Southgate's Three Lions will now turn their attention to another landmark competition, but preparations started much earlier in Qatar, with Pitchmark shining bright in the Middle East...

By winter, Pitchmark will have marked its next large-scale tournament milestone, having its paints, machines and accessories used at over six major international football tournaments (FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014™, UEFA EURO 2016 France™, FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™, UEFA EURO 2020™, and the UEFA Under-21 Championship Georgia & Romania 2021™) since the company's formation in 2010.

3343 miles from its home office in Bristol, Pitchmark will have its products in the spotlight once again when the FIFA World Cup 2022™ kicks off in Qatar in November. As part of the preparations for the tournament, Tim Rodman, the Group's Managing Director, travelled to the Middle East to build on existing relationships and liaise with key sports turf personnel in Qatar. Joining Rodman on the trip was Group Sales Manager Oliver Boys.

The pair met with new and existing customers, including Phil Sharples at England's future training camp at the Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Al Wakrah, where Pitchmark's LineFix™ system was demonstrated pitchside.

As well as LineFix™, Pitchmark's line markers were on display at Al Wakrah, where they were put to the test in various paint demonstrations. The results displayed exceptionally sharp and bright lines that impressed everyone present.

Those lines weren't the only ones admired, as Pitchmark's Direct paint was also used at Qatar University in conjunction with the Classic markers.

Hybrid and Ecoline+ demonstration at Stadium 974

The second of the machines displayed in Qatar was the Pitchmark Hybrid™ spray line marker at Stadium 974, demonstrating Ecoline+ with Sports Turf Manager Max Hope and the grounds team at the stadium; another fantastic venue that we are all looking forward to seeing in November.

The tournament itself kicks off in just over seven months' time, and Pitchmark can't wait to see its products in action on centre stage once again. With more trips to the GCC planned in the near future, Managing Director Tim Rodman took to social media last Friday with all eyes on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
