In September, staff at The Pitchmark Group completed a 12-mile hike across Bristol and Bath in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Over the past few months, our team has been raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support to help raise much-needed funds for the wonderful charity that is close to our hearts.
The team were due to complete the Wye Valley Half Marathon, bordering England and Wales, however as a result of Her Majesty, The Queen's passing on 8 September, the original hike was postponed until late 2023.
Instead, our fantastic team completed a half-marathon walk along the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path in their bid to continue raising funds and awareness.
Proudly wearing their green sponsored shirts, the team met at Rodway Common, Mangotsfield at 9:00am and began their 19km journey.
It wasn't just the pub trip halfway that kept smiles on faces but 80-year-old Pat joined the team for a large portion of the journey as well. After speaking with the team and kindly donating £5 to The Pitchmark Group's team fundraising page, Pat walked a mile-long stretch - where some staff actually had problems keeping up at times!
The Pitchmark Group members and staff arrived at the Bird in Hand in Saltford almost four hours after setting off. We were thrilled to share that we raised a total of £2,744 towards Macmillan Cancer Support. Our sincerest thanks goes out to everyone who donated and supported us on our walk.
In addition, we are thrilled to share that The Pitchmark Group's founders, Mark and Sue Rodman,
were in the top 20% of fundraisers for JustGiving in October. Together they raised £678.69 for the charity - smashing their initial target of £500!
Our fundraising journey doesn't stop here...
As a result of last month's hike postponement, we are pleased to announce that registration will be carried over to the rescheduled Wye Valley Mighty Hike Half Marathon in 2023. Make sure to follow us on social media for the latest news and updates from The Pitchmark Group.
